Keyboard Clicker
How many keys per second can you press? Mash any keys, hammer one key, or alternate two keys osu!-style. The timer starts on your first press. See your KPS, peak burst, rank and, for alternating, your stream BPM. Free, no sign-up.
Any keys (mash freely): press a key to start
The timer starts on your first valid key. Holding a key does not count, only fresh presses. Reset or Esc abandons the run. No keyboard? Use the two pads.
About the keyboard clicker
How the test works
Pick a mode and a time from 5 to 60 seconds. The clock starts on your first valid key, and only fresh presses count, so holding a key and letting it auto-repeat adds nothing. Any keys mode counts every key except Tab, Esc, the function keys and modifiers. Single key locks onto the first key you press. Two-key alternate counts only your chosen pair, or the first two keys in Custom, and checks that you swap keys on every press. Your best score is saved per mode and duration on this device only.
KPS vs. CPS
KPS (keys per second) is the keyboard version of the mouse CPS you get from the click speed test. One finger on one key usually lands 5 to 7 KPS, close to typical mouse CPS. Two alternating fingers reach 8 to 12, and a full two-hand mash can pass 20. Browsers only see the key events your keyboard sends, so cheap boards with low rollover may drop presses when you mash many keys at once.
osu! and 2-key streaming
Rhythm-game players tap two keys like Z and X to play streams, runs of 1/4 notes with four taps per beat. That makes BPM = KPS × 15, so 10 KPS is a 150 BPM stream and 13.3 KPS rounds to 200 BPM. Speed only helps if it stays clean: aim for 95% or better alternation, and check that both per-key intervals are close, since a large gap means one finger is lagging.
Tips and hardware
Keep fingers resting on the keys and press only as far as needed. Relax your wrist and pace the longer runs. Light linear switches need less force to repeat. Rapid trigger and Hall-effect keyboards reset a key as soon as it starts rising, which can add a little speed, but technique matters far more than the box claims. If a key seems to miss, check it in the keyboard tester.

Frequently asked questions
How is keys per second calculated?
KPS is counted keys divided by the duration you chose: 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 seconds. The first valid press starts the clock and counts. While a run is going, the live rate uses elapsed time, but never less than 0.25 seconds, so one early press does not show a huge number. The result and the saved score use the full duration, not that short floor.
Does holding a key count?
No. Auto-repeat is ignored, so holding one key cannot win. Only a new press counts. Let the key up before you press it again. That rule applies in every mode, including the space bar.
What happens when time runs out?
A key at or after the end does not count and does not start another run. The score is your counted keys divided by the full duration. Presses are ignored for 0.9 seconds so the tail of a mash does not clear the result. After that, the next press only resets. Press again to start.
What do the three modes count?
Any keys counts every key except Tab, Esc, the function keys and modifiers. Single key keeps the first key you press and ignores the rest. Two-key alternate counts a preset pair, or the first two keys if you chose Custom, and it checks that you swap keys on each press. The two pads on the page count as well.
How is stream BPM worked out?
For alternating, BPM is the two-decimal KPS times 15. That matches quarter-note streams, four taps to a beat. 10 KPS is 150 BPM. 13.3 KPS times 15 is 199.5, which this page rounds to 200 BPM. 16.7 KPS is over 250 BPM.
How do ranks get picked?
The rank uses the KPS shown to two decimal places, the same number on the result. Each mode has its own bands, and each score sits in only one band: the highest one it reaches. Alternating bands are over 250 BPM at 16.7 KPS, 200 to 250 BPM from 13.3, 150 to 199 BPM from 10, and from about 113 BPM under 10 KPS at 7.5. The names are labels for this test, not published records.
Can I stop a run, and will Space scroll the page?
Press Reset to abandon a run, or press Esc. Nothing is saved when you stop early. Tab to Reset and press Enter or Space if you are not using a pointer. During a run, Space does not scroll the page.
